Project Description
Funcom is a Norwegian video game developer and publisher whose journey started in 1993, as guns for hire for the big studios, in order to fund their own crazy ideas. Over the years, they went from pixel platformers to developing cutting-edge, cross-platform online games & open world sandboxes for PC and consoles such as Anarchy Online, Secret World Legends, Age of Conan, and Conan Exiles. They are currently working on their most ambitious game to date – an open-world survival game based on the Dune universe. The Funcom Bucharest studio opened in 2021 and will initially serve as the company’s headquarters for quality assurance, with plans in place to expand to other areas of game development over time.
Worldwide, Funcom has over 250 people across 5 studios in Oslo, Stockholm, Raleigh, Lisbon, and Bucharest, remaining true to what drives them: making great games and having a damn good time doing it.
